SNN² Seat of Wisdom was born in the townships and rural areas of the Mbombela municipality, out of a refusal to accept that some children simply won’t make it. We set out to prove otherwise — starting with the language, the teacher, and the corner of the neighbourhood.
“My conviction is simple: no child in this country should be locked out of their own future because of a language they were never taught. We build the seat, and we invite them in.”
Thirteen years as an educator, seven years as a Principal and Educational Consultant. C. A Nkwati now leads SNN² Seat of Wisdom in service to the children of rural Mpumalanga — and, in time, the whole of South Africa.
Vision
Grassroots access to English learning from as early as two years of age, in every local neighbourhood — fostering determination, hope and purpose. English framed as a pathway to opportunity, never a barrier of exclusion.

Curriculum takes shape
A 22-month lesson plan — English, numeracy, morals and general knowledge — is written into easy-to-use worksheets.
Caregivers step forward
Young community members are recruited, trained and mentored to open the first neighbourhood preschools.

Preschool, after-school tutoring and home schooling now carry children from age two toward matric and beyond.

No child is a slow learner
We involve parents, adapt the pace, and remove the label. Every child can learn — the system has to bend, not the child.
English is a tool, not a barrier
We refuse the idea that English belongs to anyone. It belongs to whoever uses it — starting with a two-year-old on a mat.
Community owns the school
Caregivers are not employees to be replaced. After 33 months, the school is theirs.
Morals before marks
Honesty, confidence and respect are timetabled alongside numeracy. Marks follow character — not the other way around.
